It is a trip where we take the whole day travelling into the mountains or olong the south beach seeing a lot of stunning places. This is often commonly a real four wheeler trip in one of Iceland´s most beautiful area. We often drive through rivers, climb ups and downs off roads, we stop very often to enjoy the view which can be stunningly beautiful. Erling is born and raised up in this area and knows the area like his fingers. He is both að driver and a tour guide in these trips.
Review from one of our guest:
"We have a lot of fabulous nature in Norway, but Iceland is totally different. I just love going there. Last Summer I had the great privilege of being able to go on a tour with Erling and Erla into some parts which are not commonly visited by most tourists. It is a sort of wilderness north of a place called Fljótshlið and north-west of the well known volcano Eyafjallajökull. Erling knows this part of Iceland as his own pocket having grown up in the area. We had to go with a 4-wheel drive vehicle in order to get through rivers, climb STEEP hills and going down hills just as steep. Erling knew where it was safe to go and took us to some very exciting and beautiful places. We visited a farm named Keldur, where there were settlers as early as 900. Old farmhouses, which were built way into the ground and covered with turf, have been called "Iceland's contribution to the world's architecture". I was amazed to see how spacy they were. From this location we could see the volcano Hekla. At Keldur there is a natural spring from which we drank ice cold, refreshing, sparkeling water. We stopped and looked at beautiful rivers, mountains, glaciers (at a distance), planes, deep canions etc, etc. You just can't believe the colours! Such amazing, natural colours. The air is also so fresh and clean. We made plenty of good stops to be able to enjoy all this along with good information about the various sights. It was totally breathtaking and I felt such gratitude and satisfaction from having been allowed to take part on such an adventurous trip. I highly recommend everyone to make sure they get to experience Iceland in this way. Thank you Erling and Erla!
